Cloud Cost Review Workbook

Cost reduction starts with a cost base the team can explain. This workbook accounts for charges and credits, records the assumptions behind proposed changes and requires an operational acceptance decision. The review shows invoice reconciliation beside the selected monthly estimate.

Inside the workbook

01

Cost review

Define the scope, currency and billing basis, then reconcile recorded costs to the invoice control.

02

Opportunity evaluation

Calculate net monthly savings and payback while checking missing assumptions, overlapping changes and cost-base limits.

03

Verification

Record comparable observed costs, demand context and accepted service evidence after implementation.

A few practical details

How should credits be recorded?

Use a positive Amount and select Credit in Costs. Net monthly cost applies the negative sign.

Can I select multiple changes for one service?

Yes, if the scopes do not overlap and selected baselines stay within the recorded cost base. Use overlap groups for competing proposals.

Does the workbook calculate discounted returns?

No. Payback uses one-time cost divided by a positive monthly net saving. Review the real billing and implementation schedule before approval.
